Please note that the January SHSMG event at Abbotsford has been postponed due to the snow. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenienced caused. We will let you know as soon as we have a new date.
Do you work or volunteer with social media in the history, heritage, archaeology or museum sectors in Scotland?
Come along to this informal peer-to-peer learning meetup to share your social media insights, ask questions and pick up practical tips from the rest of the group.
Our first guest speaker of 2018 is Vanessa Wegstein (@VanessasWay), the Digital Marketing Officer at Abbotsford – Home of Sir Walter Scott (@AbbotsfordScott) in the Scottish Borders.
In addition to a behind-the-scenes tour of this historic country house, Vanessa will be talking about the stories they’re sharing through social media by branching out and going beyond Scott and his writing. She’ll explain why they’ve been using his interest, family, descendants and wider Scottish history to deconstruct Abbotsford to create insight into why it’s so significant.
