400 Years in 140 Characters | Edinburgh Meetup

Do you work or volunteer with social media in the history, heritage, archaeology or museum sectors in Scotland?

Come along to this informal meetup to share your social media insights, ask questions and pick up practical tips from the rest of the group.

Our guest speaker for May is Laura Brown, social media manager at the Registers of Scotland (RoS). In 2017, RoS is celebrating 400 years of the world’s oldest national land register – the General Register of Sasines – and Laura has been leading the digital #RoS400 celebrations. In this presentation she’ll introduce RoS and discuss how their strategy is using modern methods to convey an ancient history to new audiences. This will include a Facebook Live demonstration and discussion. Afterwards, Laura will be showing attendees around the exhibition area, which features some fascinating archive material from centuries of Scottish land registration.
